Transparency, Connection, Responsibility.
These are my goals for the next council. Increase ways for residents to communicate needs and be directly informed about council activities. Strengthen local connections. Make responsible financial decisions no matter how difficult.

About Me
Think Critically
Another asset I perfected through my experiences and education is my critical thinking. Which includes understanding how and when to make tough decisions that will eventually be for the benefit of all.Â
Ask the Right Questions
With my educational background I am prepared to ask the right questions when making decisions that affect the entire county in council. I know how to look at policy from all angles, amend its language for maximum benefit, and create creative policy which aligns with the vision for the future of the County.

Arguably one of the most integral parts of this job is hearing out resident concerns. I am dedicated to committing to this job full-time. I want to find more accessible ways of sharing the goings on in council and hearing from the residents of Athol. This may be through town hall meetings, or online forums/paper surveys. I look forward to finding out the preferably solution from everyone here.

I spent some time as an admin assistant and auxillary caseworker while on my study abroad. In this role I had to advocate to colleagues and outside agencies on behalf of vulnerable populations with a large language barrier. Advocacy is not new to me and is a great skill among the many I carry on my figurative toolbelt.
Work Ethic
Why am I right for the job?
I have worked since I was 13 starting as a babysitter, then a cashier at Tim Hortons. In University I worked 2 jobs every summer including a butcher shop cleaner/cashier and a University Admin Assistant. I say all this to exemplify that I do not run from hard work or challenging positions.Â
What is important to me?
First and Foremost is this community and the County as the greater community is important to me. The County is my community not a business oppourtunity. I want to protect what makes the county unique and avoid overdeveloping the beautiful land we live on.

Fiscal Responsibility
I want to address the major budget problem facing the County with aging infrastructure and a strained budget. The County is spread too thin. The first job of new council is budget and I am ready to get to work setting priorities and catching up on our roads.
Protecting Rural Living & Sustainable Tourism
The County is unique and brings in visitors and new families because of its charms and rural living. We need to protect this from overdevelopment. People come here to slow down and leave city life, this should be the vision moving forward. I also want to see the County look inward for business promoting "stay-cation" style tourism rather than primarily rely on outsourcing tourism. I want to have locals reconnect with local business to help create a 4 season economy.
Strengthen Agriculture
Agriculture is essential. I am committed to continuing the work being done to incentivise young farmers and remove barriers for those in agriculture to conduct business.
Protecting our land
Athol is home to the beautiful south shore and the Monarch Conservation Reserve. I want to protect these areas for future generations to enjoy.
My Moto
Residents First. Decisions should be made with your input. Lets work together to protect and preserve the County.
